A South African provincial education department needed to implement a monitoring and evaluation system to track performance metrics in human resources. IPMC developed and deployed a Plone based online solution that provided summary reporting for the HR and Finance divisions.
Strategic monitoring and performance evaluation for provincial government
The premier’s office of a South African provincial government was tasked with implementing a monitoring and evaluation system to ensure that the implementation of government policies was coordinated across provincial departments and agencies. The existing system involved reports prepared against the targets outlined in the premier’s annual State of the Province address and aligned with departmental strategies. However, haphazard and fragmented co-ordination between different agencies was leading to duplication of effort and wasted resources. IPMC consultants were part of a team that implemented a network based approach to the reporting process with the aim of dramatically improving collaboration and communication between different departments and agencies around strategic initiatives, procurement, supply chain management and employee contribution towards innovation in the delivery of essential services.
Visa system
The department of Foreign Affairs of a member state of the European Union was implementing a new visa system. IPMC consultants were part of a team that acted as strategic procurement advisors, responsible for requirements definition, functional specification and vendor procurement for the new system.
Business Process Modelling for court service
A member state of the European Union sought to reorganise a major branch of its court service to make it more open and responsive to citizens. IPMC was part of a team that conducted a detailed analysis of existing business processes within the various divisions of the service and defined requirements for proposed changes. This included the benchmarking of procedures against best practices being used by the court system of a neighboring member state of the EU and recommended steps for implementing changes.
